The courses

SDEN 1 · Workshop

“A relaxed first introduction to wine. Perfect as a gift, a team outing or for anyone who simply wants to discover how wine tasting works.”

Curious about wine, but not ready to commit to an extensive course yet? Then the SDEN 1 Wine Workshop is the perfect first introduction. During this workshop you discover the basics of wine in a relaxed and accessible way: how wine is made, which types there are and what to look for when tasting. We taste different wines together and you discover how fun and surprising it is to smell and taste more consciously.

There is plenty of room to ask questions and you need no prior knowledge at all. That is exactly why this workshop is also great to give as a gift, to follow together with friends or family, or as an enjoyable activity for a team or group.

SDEN 2 · Beginner course

“A complete beginner course of 5 evenings in which you really learn to taste, recognise grape varieties and lay the foundation for lasting wine knowledge.”

Do you enjoy a good glass of wine and want to understand why one wine appeals to you more than another? During this course you get to know the most important grape varieties, wine regions and wine styles of the world. You learn how wine is made, how to taste wine professionally and which factors influence aroma, flavour and quality.

The course is a fine combination of theory and practice. You discover why a Sauvignon Blanc tastes different from a Chardonnay, what sets a Rioja apart from a Chianti, and how climate, soil and the winemaker’s choices shape a wine’s character. We also train your senses with product recognition and taste tests. No prior knowledge is required and groups consist of a maximum of twelve participants.
